Kate becomes newest board member of COAST (the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation)

Kate has joined the board of the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation (COAST) Santa Barbara as their newest member. COAST is a non-profit organization that "provides advocacy, education and outreach to improve transportation options in the Santa Barbara and Ventura Regions, promoting rail, bus, bike and pedestrian access." Kate is excited to join forces with the wonderful people of COAST to work to make a difference in our community!

Kate successfully defended her dissertation this morning at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her dissertation, titled "An Investigation in Decision Making and Destination Choice Incorporating Place Meaning and Social Network Influences" is a compilation of four papers written to investigate the decision making process and influential factors in destination choices.
