Kate becomes newest board member of COAST (the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation)

August 20, 2014:
 
Kate has joined the board of the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation (COAST) Santa Barbara as their newest member. COAST is a non-profit organization that "provides advocacy, education and outreach to improve transportation options in the Santa Barbara and Ventura Regions, promoting rail, bus, bike and pedestrian access." Kate is excited to join forces with the wonderful people of COAST to work to make a difference in our community!

Kate Deutsch-Burgner wins the AAG Transportation Speciality Group Dissertation Award 

March 3, 2014

The Association of American Geographers Transportation Specialty Group awards Kate with the 2013 dissertation award. Kate is honored to receive this award for her work. Her dissertation can be found here. For more information, read about it here.

The 93rd annual meeting of the Transportation Research Board is taking place January 12-16th in Washington D.C.  Research by Data Perspectives Consulting will be presented in a session on well-being and travel.  Our presentation, titled "Place Happiness: Its Constituents and the Influence of Emotions and Subjective Importance on Activity Type and Destination Choice" will be presented on Monday.

Kate Deutsch-Burgner Successfully Defends Ph.D.

June 20, 2013:

Kate successfully defended her dissertation this morning at the University of California, Santa Barbara.  Her dissertation, titled "An Investigation in Decision Making and Destination Choice Incorporating Place Meaning and Social Network Influences" is a compilation of four papers written to investigate the decision making process and influential factors in destination choices.
